Monday August 27th: Family Dinner
Saturday September 1st: Final Showing and Party!

This year, we are interested in finding more ways to create an open environment for exchange and relationship building, within the Alias Intensive participants, instructors and the Toronto Dance Community— extending beyond the two weeks of the program. And what better way to get to know one another than over a meal and drink?!?

On Monday August 20th and Monday August 27th, Alias Dance Project invites all of our intensive participants, workshop instructors and members of our community to gather together to share a meal, mingle, build relationships, enjoy some drinks, and dance to the sweet sounds of the .wavgods. These family dinners are our weekly intensive kick offs, to set the welcoming vibe and prepare for the fun weeks ahead!

Tickets to Family Dinners will be limited, so please reserve in advance. More information regarding location and food will become available as we get closer to August.

On Saturday August 25th, we invite you to join us for Chemistry, an all styles, experimental 2×2 Battle and PARTY. Co-hosted by Nigel Edwards of Toronto’s, Lost is Found Collective, the mission of this event is to ‘express without limitation, and explore the connection with your soon to be discovered partner’. Nigel creates a strongly inclusive, beautiful space for dancers from all styles and forms to exchange and share their dance.

If you want to participate in the event, you enter as an individual. Part of the fun is only finding out who your partner will be moments just before you’re asked to dance together. Pairs are chosen after a preliminary solo round, based on who the panel thinks would have an interesting and natural chemistry in performance.

For this year’s event, we are happy to invite Mate, MonstaPop, Toyin and Lara as our International guest judges. The winners of Chemisty will be awarded a cash prize.

If you would like to participate or even just attend, please add this ticket your registration fee. Last year’s battle filled up quickly, so you don’t want to miss out on this jam !
